New spice alert: meet Pimenta.
Made with pink peppercorns, sumac and PERi-PERi - it’s born to be mild. And yes, that means Smoky Churrasco's going in our baste hall of fame, along with Garlic BBQ.
Speaking of fame, this limited edition spice has already been on the telly. In case you missed it, we were in Episode Two of BBC Three’s Hungry For It, hosted by Stacey Dooley, Chef Kay Kay and ex-Nando's griller and legend, Big Zuu.
Contestants had to create a PERi-PERi marinade and the prize was no less than “monumental” - Big Zuu’s words, not ours. The winning baste, judged by our general manager Trent Devlin, would become our next. guest. spice.
Pimenta is winner Beth’s creation that’s zingy, creamy and comes in mild on the PERi-ometer. One for those whose Nando’s spice level is on the low side - no shade.
